Old Stuff in the West Lawn

west lawn circuit diagram
Point where old west line was snapped off under flower bed

Imagine standing on the uppermost question mark on the diagram, looking towards the lower question mark. That is the orientation of the photo above. It shows where the PVC West Sprinkler Line was snapped off, in order to avoid unnecessarily digging up the flower bed. There remains some SCH 40 PVC and probably some copper pipe in this bed, shown as the dashed piping in the diagram. (The trench running horizontally in the photo is part of the new system).

Moving to the right (well, east and a tiny bit north, and looking west), we see the view in the bottom photo.

The feed ran from the valves (off to the right of the picture) in PVC, and started to make a 90° turn in the dark greenery in the lower right. The remnant of the copper pipe is visible as the bright object emerging like a root from the darkest area of the photo. Click/tap on this area of the image to see a close-up of just this pipe as it plunges into the flower bed. It was broken off near the edge of the flower bed, in the area shown. Click/tap anywhere else in the image to see a full-size view of the same shot.
